Service description

isitdown.io provides website, app, and service status checking. Checking any target is free and requires no account. We check availability with multiple probe methods in parallel and display the results. A free account adds saved monitors with email alerts; optional paid subscriptions (Pro, $4.99/month; Max, $12.99/month) raise monitor limits and remove ads. Some diagnostic tools (currently the speed test) have daily usage allowances on free plans, stated on the tool page; paid plans are unmetered.

Accounts

• Login is by one-time email code; you are responsible for keeping access to your email account secure and for activity under your account.
• You must be at least 13 years old (or 16 where local law requires) to create an account.
• We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

Subscriptions and billing

• Paid plans are billed monthly through Stripe and renew automatically until cancelled.
• You can cancel any time from your billing page (Stripe customer portal). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you keep paid features until then.
• No partial-month refunds, except where required by law.
• If a subscription lapses or payment fails, the account drops to the free plan's limits; monitors beyond the free limit stop being checked but are not deleted.
• Prices may change; existing subscribers get notice by email before a change affects them. Taxes may be added at checkout depending on your location.

Monitoring and alerts

Monitors are checked on a 5-minute cadence, and alerts fire after two consecutive failed probes (with a matching recovery notice). Alerting is provided on a best-effort basis: we do not offer an SLA, and you should not rely on isitdown.io as your only signal for safety-critical or revenue-critical systems.

No warranty

The service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of status results. Our checks reflect reachability as observed by our probe methods and network vantage, and may not reflect your specific network conditions.

Acceptable use

You may use isitdown.io for personal and commercial purposes. You may not:

• Use automated scripts to make excessive requests that could degrade the service
• Attempt to disrupt or overload our servers, or use monitors to harass or overload third-party servers
• Misrepresent status results as official statements from the services being checked

Status badges

Our embeddable status badges (/badge/) are provided free for use in projects, READMEs, and websites. We reserve the right to rate-limit excessive usage.

Limitation of liability

isitdown.io shall not be liable for any damages arising from the use or inability to use this service, including but not limited to decisions made based on status results or alerts that were delayed or not delivered.

Changes

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Material changes that affect paid subscriptions will be announced to subscribers by email. Continued use of the service constitutes acceptance of any changes.
