Information we collect
isitdown.io is designed to be privacy-friendly. We collect minimal data:
- Check queries: When you check a website, we temporarily store the domain name and result in memory to display recent checks and trending data. This data is not persisted to disk and is cleared when the server restarts.
- Analytics: We use Vercel Web Analytics to understand traffic patterns. This collects anonymized, aggregate data (page views, referrers) with no cookies or personal identifiers.
- Advertising: isitdown.io is ad-supported. We use Google AdSense in standard placements on the page chrome (header / sidebar / between sections) — never embedded inside the live probe result, the verdict hero, the region chips, or the response-time graph, which stay ad-free so they're never confused with sponsored content. AdSense may use cookies to serve ads based on your visit to this and other sites. With Google Consent Mode v2, defaults are 'denied' until you click 'Accept all' in the cookie banner; clicking 'Reject all' keeps defaults denied and you'll see non-personalized ads only. You can opt out of personalized advertising at Google Ad Settings.
Information we do NOT collect
- We do not require account creation or login
- We do not collect email addresses, names, or personal information
- We do not track individual users across sessions
- We do not sell any data to third parties
Cookies
isitdown.io itself does not set cookies. Third-party services (Google AdSense, Vercel Analytics) may set their own cookies as described above.
